Losing Myself
"Losing Myself" is a meditation. The images were born out of the realization that whenever I am deeply troubled, I sit on the beach staring at the horizon for hours until I feel ready to face whatever challenges are in front of me.
It is also my way to use California's heavy summer marine layer to my advantage instead of allowing it to frustrate me. The images have all been taken from the same location in south Orange County. The fog and marine layer obscures the horizon and causes the lack of sharpness, allowing viewers to "lose themselves" in the view. This is an on-going project, predicated on the right weather conditions and my being in the proper (deeply introspective) mood.
Available here are open edition unframed prints on aluminum for a contemporary look. By request, limited edition fine art prints will be available very soon!
