At the start of what used to be a rocky and moderately challenging climb. Apparently the park service has recently tamed this part of the trail; there has been a lot of stacking to smooth out the trail, and in one place a large boulder that had been strategically placed on a very tight turn has been blasted and half of it has been removed.
