Sunworshippers enjoy a summer afternoon on St. Pete's Beach, the legendary "Pink Palace", the Don Cesar Beach Resort in the background on the right. Saint Pete Beach, known as Long Key until 1957, is a barrier island off the mainland from St. Petersburg, Florida, situated between the Gulf of Mexico to the west and Tampa Bay to the east. It is a popular tourist destination for it's pristine white sand beaches and warm, clear Gulf water.
