-Freeman Patterson, Photography and the Art of Seeing
"Lions" sculpture by Herman T. Beck features two life-sized lions, one walking and one sitting, parallel to one another but facing in opposite directions. The sculpture was commissioned in 1932 and installed in 1935, medium is painted concrete. It is currently on display on a pedestal in Hancock Park/La Brea Tar Pits outside the entrance to the George C. Page Museum in Los Angeles, California, USA.
